Schwarzfahrer (title translated into English as black mens loafers Rider) is a German short film directed in 1993 by Pepe Danquart. The German title is a pun: Schwarzfahrer expression literally means "black passenger," but its most common meaning is a person who uses public transportation without having purchased a ticket. Schwarzfahrer was honored in 1994 with an Academy Award for best short fiction. [1] The plot focuses on the racist abuse that a black mens loafers man suffers in a tram in Berlin. The beginning of the film shows us a man unable to start your motorcycle. Giving up, choose to get on a tram without a ticket purchase. In the tram, the motorcyclist seen as a black mens loafers man (Paul Outlaw) took a seat right next to an elderly white woman (Senta Moira). For several minutes, this old woman utters a long series of racist and xenophobic comments directed primarily at African immigrants, accusing them of being stupid, dirty, smelly, criminals, loafers, and HIV positive. During this time, the black mens loafers man keeps his composure, sitting without uttering a single word, without even looking at the old, and eating pistachios quietly. Other passengers, including the principle of the short rider, are visibly disturbed by the monologue of the old, but they do not dare to intervene. This situation persists until, in one of the stops, a reviewer goes to the tram. When the old woman a ticket out of the bag, black mens loafers man quickly snatches it and swallows it all without the reviewer to witness it. When the reviewer is presented before them, the black mens loafers man shows his valid ticket with a beatific smile, while the elderly can only murmur that the black mens loafers man has eaten his (an excuse that, obviously, the reviewer does not accept). The title pun is obvious at this time: a black mens loafers man in the literal sense Schwarzfahrer of the word, while just become old in the sense Schwarzfahrer criminal. The film ends with the reviewer forcing the elderly to leave the tram. Ironically, the only real Schwarzfahrer this film (the motorcyclist whose bike would not start) does not receive any punishment, because the reviewer is forced to fine the old woman, never ask for your ticket. . . .
