The first thing that struck me about this novel is that its protagonist is a woman. Both All souls and Tomorrow in the Battle Think on Me is a man axis, so who knows why Mary was associated with an author who prefers male protagonists and, therefore, continue in that line. Another thing that surprised me was that during the first few pages, I laughed so much in situations that exist or have conversations with each other. I leave as an example the following snippet:. "Do you think this striped trousers and brown tassel loafers, you know, as an ornament, go well argyle socks?". I kept telling that I dreaded the argyle socks, striped pants and brown loafers with tassels, because that would have worried too much and the conversation would have been immortalized. I was a penalty Miaja but irritate me a lot that would allow me to these queries as if I were her previuda or his mother, and the subject was conceited about his writings, which the critics praised, and I seemed tontainas. The starting point of the story is a death, and hence the author develops basically two issues on which engages the characters, that is, the absence following the death and love. And although most of the novel is told by the protagonist in first person, the author displays his style in a way that could be likened to a river flowing and little by little, and this is reflected in that when we realize we want is counting his view another character. Mary makes easy what is complex. However, halfway through the book the reader gets the feeling that this book is similar to the verbiage that you loose one of those friends / heavy when they tell you everything they had to tell: get to turn around and around the same issues, pose hypotheses, possibilities and theories. So at this point the patient listener just doing what we all do: think about something else or else looking at the shrews. So in conclusion is a novel that is fine, but from my point of view is repetitive. In any case I put reaffirms Marys reliable as an author when choosing a reading, plus a reading I found much cooler than that of All Souls. I just read "love" and, again, I found that I wanted to find Javier Marias, this wonderful writer who makes you come back again and again back, not so much to understand, to just read what recrearte . I have all the work of Mary and sometimes reread some of his novels, "Tomorrow in the Battle Think on Me" I have become a cult book. Ground is so much stress in his novels, which, in the end I realize that would have been easier to make something that was not meant to be.
